Sea Shell on the Beach Sand

Shell in Sand at the Beach

I was browsing through some of my old photos the other day, and found this beautiful shot of a Sea Shell. I took this at Moonee Beach, near Coffs Harbour, NSW some years ago. This photo really reminds me of the "early morning at the beach" experience, with the seaweed and waves just visible in the background. I can almost feel the gentle grit of the cool sand underfoot (or actually under-nose, as I was lying down on the sand when I took this photo!)

Do you have any memories of the beach that you would like to share? Post a comment with your memories of your favourite beach holiday.

  2. Great shot David, I particularly like the wide and the slanted orientation of this image. And having the shell in the middle of the image really works well in this example! Megan and I are heading to Sanibel Island, Florida in two weeks. It is supposedly the best place to find shells in the Western Hemisphere, so I can't wait to walk along a beach in the early morning!

  3. Hi Old Dog,

Great to hear you've been to Australia, sounds like you enjoyed it! Where were you in Queensland, btw? I live in Qld, so I might know the places.

    Thanks for visiting!

    See you later,

    David

  4. Hi Tom,

Hope you enjoy your trip - and I look forward to seeing some photos! Remember to take some time to relax though - don't spend all the time at the beach getting photos! :)

    Cheers,

    David

  8. Many David, however, here is one. In 2006 we traveled to Italy, and it was mid Sept, so beaches were empty then, but we still went and started to walk around, go into water, and suntan. Well waves were quite strong, and I am quite scared of waves to start off. Well I went to wet my feet, and next thing the wave arrived and sweeped over my feet, with that sweeped my slip ons, lol. I said this is it. But lucky me, the wave spit them back just a meter away from me, lol. Never went again, couldn't afford to loose my shoes, lol. Great idea, David, great photo as always, and thanks for sharing. Anna :)

  10. Hi quintarantino,

Thanks for dropping round. This beach certainly wasn't crowded - it's nestled away in a small caravan park, so there's not many people at any time of day.

    Cheers,

    David

  13. Thanks for the Photo David!

This brings back unpleasent as well as plesant memories for me! One particular time was when I was camping at a spot called Banksia Beach. There were dingos wandering around the campsite and Jellyfish allover the sand so we couldn't swim! To top it all, a huntsman spider crawled up my leg, twice!! I can laugh at it now but I certainly wasn't laghing then!

    Great shot anyway,

    Liam the Hawk
