  3. Great depth of field. No pun intended!

  4. Oh, green grass - makes me envious! Here in Northeast USA, winter has just about come to a close, but spring has not yet "sprung". Nothing but brown grass and bare trees. But soon...

  6. Hi sandycarlson,

I'm sure your grass will be green soon! Ours here is actually fading, as you can see in the picture, so I'll look forward to seeing some green stuff on your site soon!

    Cheers,

    David

  7. Hi projectmummy,

This "field" was actually the deepest it had been for a long time - we'd just had some much-needed rain! :) Thanks for dropping by, have a nice WW.

    Cheers,

    David

  8. Hi kathylikespink,

That is always a very nice moment, when the first shoots of Spring start to show. Please try to get a photo if you can - it would make a lovely blog post!

    Cheers,

  9. Life is made up of so many simple beautiful pleasures if we only take the time to pause and notice them --thanks for pausing-

  10. So cool to make beautiful pictures out of what we see everyday. All you pics look good. MB

  11. Very nice photo. I like the way center is so focused and detailed. Such a simple subject can be quite beautiful.

  12. So pretty and green... I can safely say that my lawn long ago gave up on being richly green. If they had lawn abuse patrols, I'd be arrested. Nice to see what grass is supposed to look like... loved your moon watch photo too.

  13. Hi David!
Great shot as always. I like shots with little deep of field.
I have post some pics today on ABC wednesday with little DOF.

    Cheers.

  14. Hi marcia,

I'm glad you can realize that - pausing and actually noticing what is around us is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable things we can do. It's just a pity we do it so seldom!

    Cheers,

    David

It is certainly a pleasure to bring to light everyday things. Thanks for dropping round!

  16. Hi catsynth,

I have always loved to try and get photos of the grass, and this is one of my 100s of attempts. I'm glad you like it. The detail is probably due to the 9MP camera I took it on - it captures great detail.

    Cheers,

    David

  17. Hi raven,

This photo was taken just after some rain when the grass was actually green. Normally, our "grass" really consists of bindies! (Speaking of bindies, you might want to check out my Prickle (bindie) resting on a leaf close-up.) So don't feel as if you're the only one with a bad lawn - I can assure you our lawn is at least as bad!

    Cheers,

    David

  18. Hi john,

I like small DOF shots as well. I find they are somehow more "arty" than regular "representational" shots. I'll check out your ABC Wednesday shots too.

    Cheers,

    David

  20. Hi Andree,

Ha Ha, I have just been reading about cats, that is an interesting comment you make. :) I often ask that same thing - WHERE is the grass????!

  21. Hi Luiz,

Thanks, I'm glad you like this pic. I find it interesting how everyday things can look so beautiful when seen in a different light. Right now we're short of lawn, but when it is there we tend to take it for granted. I hope you can take the time today to see something in a new light.

    Cheers,

    David

  22. Hi David!
Here in Scandinavia almost all interior doors have door handle, doorhole and key. Therefor I have all these keys you saw at my pictures. Many other countries worldwide use only a door knob.

Are you ready for Sky Watch Friday?

    Cheers John.

  23. Wow David so green, and did you change your blog background too. Looks really nice, I like that color scheme. Thanks for sharing so so and so green grass. For us long way to go. Thanks again, Anna :)

  24. Hi John,

Hmm, in Australia we always have locks on our external doors, but not internal ones. And our keys don't look as romantic as yours. Thanks for the info!

I'm ready for Sky Watch Friday now, check out my post of Purple Sunset

    Cheers,

    David

  25. Hi Anna,

I have changed my blog template, I'm still not sure if I like it, but any feedback on it is appreciated. Thanks for your comment!

  26. David, there are many different monitors in the world, calibrated for different color intensity. On my laptop the colors are not so bright, but probably on my desk top they will be, as I experienced with my own blog. If you haveing trouble deciding, its simple, go with natural earth tone colors, because any color you have on the photo will always match. That is what we have done with our home, I can add pink blinds and they will look good, lol. Hope I was any help, but on the end you know the best what to do, and these are just my guides. Anna :)

  27. Ahhh !!! Green grass. Get out the lawnmower. Spring is here.

Forget the lawnmower. Let's go birding or just do some photography.

Thanks for the nice comments on my American Oyster-catcher.

I have added you to my "Check it out - Some Favorites" Blog Roll

  28. Hi Anna,

Thanks. I hadn't thought of the different monitors, I was just calibrating for mine :) I'll have a look at the lighter colours, but I think whatever I do it'll talke a lot of work to blend the three main colours on the blog, along with the header! Oh well, I've got the weekend...... ;)

    Cheers,

    David

  29. Hi texas travelers,

My sentiments exactly with regard to the lawn mower - although unfortunately the council don't see it that way and tend to get cranky when us photographers stop mowing our lawns. The snakes love it though!

Thanks for the link, I'm adding you to my list of Recommended Websites right now.

    Cheers,

    David

  30. HI David - I'm late for Wordless Wednesday, but I wanted to say that I love your grass photo (as well as a number of others I've looked at on my first visit to your blog). Great stuff! Keep shooting.

  33. Hi lara,

Yes, this reminds me of the Ulitmate Simplicity too - the Highest Being - God. He is completely simple, and therefore the most beautiful.

Thanks for visiting. Hope you have a nice day.
